"Controlling the Elements" S&D

by Ahmed
(Stanford,CA)

There wasn’t really a story to this dream. Most of my dreams I actually remember in fragments and they aren’t interesting enough to really share with anyone but the abilities I had in this dream were so outstanding I simply cannot keep it within me. I was standing in a grassy plain and there was no one around me. The setting of the dream was very plain and undetailed; it was sort of like a battle stage in an old video game. There was no background it was just short grass as far as the eye could see.

I had watched an episode of Avatar the Airbender before I had gone to sleep and in that show characters have the ability to control certain elements with their minds. I really wanted to do this so I concentrated really hard and pulling the water from the atmosphere. I gritted my teeth and clenched my fist and I felt the water molecules bunching up together in the middle of the air and suddenly a huge column of water appeared in the grass field.

After that, I took my two hands and moved them around controlling the water, I took my right hand and put the palm up to the sky and rose it up and a column of earth formed to the right of me. I twirled around creating columns of elements and dashing them against each other for some time. I do not remember when the dream ended but I remember doing this for a very long time and it was an enjoyable experience.

Perhaps you want more control over your life, and want to do this yourself with no adults to take charge. You want to be more powerful and be more impressive than what you currently think that you are. The idea of having power brings you happiness, perhaps because of a lack of power in you real life.

A Note On Visitor-Submitted Questions:

Publishing sleep stories and questions from our visitors is meant to create a forum for open and proactive dialogue about an extremely important portion of our lives (one that occupies 1/3 of it and affects the other 2/3) that isn't talked about enough. It is not meant to substitute a trip to the doctor or the advice of a specialist. It's good to talk; it is not good to avoid consulting someone who's profession it is to help you with this kind of stuff.

If you are in any way concerned about your sleep health, don't wait for an answer on here, and don't necessarily rely on them. See a sleep specialist in your area as soon as possible.
