Dreaming/Awake...Trapped!

by Mon
(Renton, Wa)

I remember most of my dreams, and they are usually harmless. The is the 1st time I've experienced this type of dream, what I am calling a nightmare. I was watching tv and was extremely tired, so I got up and went straight to bed. It usually takes about 10 minutes for me to fall asleep, but I'm guessing this happened right away. I was on the floor in my living room, and felt as thought something/someone whom I couldn't see was pulling me in every which way. I was struggling with them and felt trapped. I screamed loud, but nothing was coming out. I even remember screaming for my Husband, it was just a faint whisper if that.

I then realized I was dreaming, so then I panicked, I was still struggling with something. Trying to wake myself up, and I didn't know what to do, it wasn't working.. Finally my eyes opened and I slowly lifted my head to look around, I just couldn't believe what I just experienced. It scared the crap out of me, I almost didn't want to fall back asleep, but I did and I was fine.. It's been interesting looking this up today, and

A Note On Visitor-Submitted Questions:

Publishing sleep stories and questions from our visitors is meant to create a forum for open and proactive dialogue about an extremely important portion of our lives (one that occupies 1/3 of it and affects the other 2/3). It is not meant to substitute a trip to the doctor or the advice of a specialist. It's good to talk; it is not good to avoid consulting someone who's profession it is to help you with this kind of stuff.

If you are in any way concerned about your sleep health, don't wait for an answer on here, and don't necessarily rely on them. See a sleep specialist in your area as soon as possible.
