Fresh Feet (S&D)

This weekend marks the beginning of my track season. Last night I had a dream about my first meet. I was running the 60m race, at the University of Washington's indoor facility. All the details of my race, were so vivid in my dream. For example I could picture myself coming out of the starting blocks, making sure to keep my back low, my head down, my hands were over my head, and feet exactly six inches above the ground.

As the announcer fired off the gun, I shot out like a rocket from my blocks. For 20 meters I held my drive phase, slowly rising up until I was upright tall at the 40 meter mark. In the last 20 meters of my race, I stayed relaxed pumping my arms as hard as I could.

I crossed the finish line in first place. I had ran a new personal best time of 7.30 seconds in the 60 meters. I was elated by my performance, then suddenly I woke up from my dream. Lying in my bed I had a huge smile on my face, and was no longer nervous about my first meet but confident. I'm super hyped to run this weekend! Go Card!

Publishing sleep stories and questions from our visitors is meant to create a forum for open and proactive dialogue about an extremely important portion of our lives (one that occupies 1/3 of it and affects the other 2/3) that isn't talked about enough.
