Having Trouble Correcting My DSPS

I've been dxed with DSPS. I tried chronotherapy, but immediately started getting sick: It was too rough on my body. I suffer from chronic illness, ie Fibromyalgia, Immune Globulin Def. etc.. My neurologist told me chronotherapy was the only way to correct it, and that I wouldn't be able to go backwards.

Sooo, I got blue-light blocking sunglasses to use at night, and I opened my blinds before I went to bed (which is what Kevin told me to do). Every other day, I set my dawn simulating alarm clock a half hour early. That worked for awhile, until I started waking up in the early hours of the morning before dawn, and couldn't get back to sleep. I think maybe having the blinds open was waking me up too early. Then I was so sleepy during the day, I couldn't stay awake.

I was using bright light therapy as soon as I got up, but since I started getting up at 11:45 (using bright light) until noon, I didn't know if that was early enough, or if it was only advancing my phase. I did get down to getting up by 10:30, which is pretty amazing, considering, I had been sleeping until 1 or 2 pm. I was sitting in front of a light box on rainy days, or lying out on my deck in the sun. I would do it as soon as I got up, ie 11:45 on down.

All the literature says you can only use bright light therapy very early in the morning, ie 7:00 am. Is that true, or should I just continue what I'm doing and tough it out? I was so tired this morning, I slept until noon again, and didn't use the light. I think what I'm mainly getting at, is,
is there a set time I should use the light therapy, or can I just use it when I get up (hopefully at 10:30) as I titrate down? Can the light ONLY be used early in the am?
