Mortal Fear

A Sleep Paralysis Story

I woke up...and I heard a witch who was repeating that: "You can't wake up, I'm going to kill you..". I was trying to move, to run out of the room, to ask for help, but I was unable to speak or move. After a few seconds or even a minute (I can't clearly remember) I saw her sitting on my bed. She was extremely ugly...and I thought that she was a ghost. I was scaaaared...than I fell asleep..

goat-like footsteps NEW
by: tiaanvandermerwe77@yahoo.com

The fist time it happend when I was 13...I was in my bed, awake and not scared at all.

Just before i fell asleep,I felt something entering my room.I felt a presence of pure evil.Heard a very loud whispering noise saying my name. The weird thing is that I could feel something pushing me against my bed, could not speak or move at all!The other time it happend again but I heard footsteps like if a goat or cow would walk on concrete, next to my bed!

People say it is health problems, but what about the evil presence and why does it go away when i pray to God??I acctualy had marks on my body the first time...Science doesnt explain everything and people have to realise it...

Sleep Paralysis NEW
by: Anonymous

I have experienced this several times before. The last time was several months ago. I was awake yet asleep, can't quite tell at that moment, and I felt like I could not lift my head from my pillow as someone or something played with my hair, I could feel my ponytail moving and being lightly fondled. I tried to yell, scream and I couldn't move, and panic and fear set in. I am a 32 year old female, married with 2 children, I do not take heavy drugs or on any heavy medications. I have had these experience since I was a child. My husband said he has too, so have a few neighbors. I think its just one of those phenomanon's that we will never be able to clearly explain.

Scared ghost? NEW
by: Kat Holloway

I literally just experienced a sp just there. I have had this happen twice before but my body was just heavy and couldn't speak. But the one I just had there I just a heavy weight feeling compressed on my chest and felt hard to breath. A ghost that sounded like an old man was sayin to me "help me" but the rest was blurred and I tried to say what is wrong but obv could not speak due to the sp. I am really scared but I have researched it and most things online are saying it could be a passes relative or just your brain playing tricks. Fascinating what the body can do sometimes.......just glad I'm not alone x

Has happened to me as well... NEW
by: Anonymous

I usually expierence SP after a sleep deprivation. That's interesting that so many people report that they have expierenced the presence of evil, because it has happend to me as well. Once, when I was falling asleep, my head suddenly became heavy and I couldn't move my body, although I was fully conscious. Then I heard a hissing voice proposing that I should kill somebody. And the longer I stayed in SP state, the more demanding the voice became. Feeling that my head was about to explode I managed "to pull" myself ouf of this state. I expierence SP time after time, but this was the worst. And that exhaustion after waking up from SP makes me think I have been doing non-stp calculus for 3h. My head is just steaming!

I felt helpless. NEW
by: Anonymous

Same here. Man when I tell you I've never been so frightened in my life, I have honestly never been so frightened in my life. The first time I've experienced this was like devastating. This experience truely is a living nightmare. The first time I was dreaming I walked into a salon and lady GaGa was there. & everything went quiet and she attacked me, she had no eyes and looked like something straight from hell. I was screaming for my life, nobody could hear me & I couldn't move or open my eyes. After like 3 minutes. I was able to move & such. I ran out of my room and went to my mom & cried so bad she though I was crazy, then she noticed scratces everywhere & was scared herself. This is something science cannot explain.

SP NEW
by: Kenny

First time I had SP was my senior year of high school, I was laying in bed and woke up to what felt like my cat walking between my legs, but my cat was dead. Scared the s*** out of me. Second time I was in my dorm room my sohpmore year of college and I awoke to what sounded like an airplane engine right above my head. I stared at the ceiling and I began seeing it shake into squiggly lines. The third time, while I was 20, I was laying In my girlfriends bed in the middle of the night and I began hearing whispering from all around the room...was the scariest of the 3. Ive had more instances of SP, but those definitely take the cake

The Devil NEW
by: Rose

Sometime early last year I woke up to the voice of what I thought was the devil. I couldn't move or speak and I was scared. I didn't see anything but I heard his voice in my ears. He was whispering evil things in my ears but I can't remember what they were... but soon the voice went away and I went right back to sleep. I honestly thought it was the devil until I learned about sleep paralysis.

A Must Read Experience (haunted or not) NEW
by: Anonymous

Ahhh!! I have a couple of experiences after last night. first one was six months back, middle of a night when i was sleeping on my back, my face was facing to the right. i suddenly felt a heavy hand over my chest from my left side. when i tried to look who it was i could not move a thing, neither could i turn my face or say a thing. all i did was started chanting prayers out of fear and after few minutes i got back to normal. i was horrified and couldnt sleep the whole night.
Similar situation last night where i did hear disturbing noices on my right but i coudnt move or turn to my right to look at it. i felt literally frozen. I thought i was haunted until i discovered it was some sleeping disorder called Sleep Paralysis.

Why it occurs to me NEW
by: Anonymous

I woke up seeing someone on top of me. It was me but he was much colder than me. I was preparing for my midterms at the time and i was quite depressed. he told me that everything is gonna be fine and ironically i failed all my exams (i had problems at the time and was trying to deal wth them).
I had a bad sp today. I suddenly woke up and saw the aura of the room change somehow. Someone appeared at the corner of the room. she was like a witch or smth and began uttering a spell or smth didn't hear her clearly. Then a man in white cloth appeared and grabbed my neck. I tried grabbing his leg but was unsuccesful. Then i woke up and saw that it was already 8 am could see lights coming. I think this happens when we're sleep. It seems like it's real but it's not. When i experienced it today everywhere was dark but when i woke up right after it was 8 am, there was sunlight. I think it happens when we're depressed and work very hard. Remermber something like this happening when i studied 20 hours nonstop. Then you know it happened i heard voices but couldn't move. One more thing, I knew i would be sleep paralysed today and it happened. I jerked off and didn't take a shower. I was feeling somehow uncomfortable. Always be clean.

Demons in my sleep NEW
by: Anonymous

I woke up to feel my whole body vibrating. Before I knew it I could hear voices. They kept getting louder and louder. I already knew I was in sleep paralysis for it was my fourth time having it. I thought to myself if I could slowley move my foot off of the bed I would wake up. This dream became more intense and the voices got louder. At one moment I was praying hoping that God would answer me and banish the demons. I got no answer. I finally got my foot off the bed and I made a run to the door but I found myself back in my bed in the same position. I could still hear the voices. I tried again to make a run for the door. This time it was much easier. Once I reached my door I tried turning on the lights without looking and when I did look at the switch I was then gripping my pillow only to find out I was back in my bed again. With 2 more failed attempts I gave up and just stared into my window where you could see the moonlight seeping in thru the blinds. I then started to see smoke. Very light grey smoke that was just floating there and it was not disappearing. I waved my foot over the cloud and it disappeared. It then came back. I just laid there looking at it and listening to the voices. I finally woke up in complete shock. I opened both eyes and the room wasnt as dark as before but it was still dark. There were no lights on like how I left it before I went to sleep. I didn't move a muscle at all I was shocked. I laid there fr 5 more minutes to see what would happen. Nothing. Has anyone had the same experience? -ralph_yumol@homtail.ca

Terror in the night NEW
by: Kimcarverkat@gmail.com

Hi,
Two years ago I woke in the middle of the night to feel the most intense feeling of something at the end of my bed leering into what felt like the deepest part of my soul. At the ecact time my boyfriend rose from the bed and ran down the hall to find his 3 year old screaming and ointing to the closet. mIm not a believer in the supernatural until this happened. Two years later I am with another boyfriend and he and I are going through a month straight of him being on alert to if I start breathing heavy he is to immediantly wake me.r the entire month I have that same feeling of the same thing chasing me. Now it quit for a month and then the other night it is at the end of my bed then fastly it is at my side I see an fuzzy image of what it looks like and I end up trying to fall asleep 5 more times only to have it thee. I eventually cry and am screaming till my bf hold s me and I go to sleep . This isn't an illusion to me it is by far the most terrifying thing I have ever seen or felt in my life

SP NEW
by: Anonymous

I have had these on and off for a few years and 2 of the posts I read in here are similar to my exp such as a witch like lady holding you down or sometimes just someone you can't see and an unrecognizable voice hard to make out, but last night in particular I fought it and the voice held me down and told me I could not awake but it seemed more violent then comforting. I can't explain it not to be superstitious but it freaks me out.

My SP Experience NEW
by: Guy who just had an Episode

I've had sleep paralysis for about 5 years now. The first two cases I've had of it were terrifying from having spiders crawl all over my body to just not being able to move knowing damn well you're awake. I've probably had over 50 SP cases sometimes I'd have them back to back. I've never experienced anything demonic or ghostly. All I remember from my experiences are being in a dark room and either hearing loud music (sometimes hip hop, recently salsa) or hearing children laugh and play like as if you were at a playground. I've actually been able to control them and wake up within seconds instead of having to endure the usual 3 mins of torture. When I don't fight the paralysis I suddenly see a white flash and I wake up almost instantly. Maybe it's just me but hey it works.

Voices NEW
by: Anonymous

I experienced a different kind of hallucination. Rather than seeing something, i heard something. i woke in complete terror and my whole body was tingling. I felt as though something was pinning me to my bed. couldn't move, couldnt scream, couldnt do anything. As it kept happening, i began hearing what i would describe as what hell sounds like. Demonic sounding voices and men and women in severe agony. i distinctly remember hearing a woman scream "rape me". i was convinced i had just dealt with some kind of demonic presence. i felt it in the room. as soon as i started to come out of it i just started repeating the name of Jesus and the voices went away but i was still terrified. i dont believe for a moment that science can truly explain this phenomenon.

.. NEW
by: Anonymous

The first time I had sleep paralysis was probably when I in the fourth grade. I just thought it was a simple nightmare at that time and thought nothing of it, but I remembered being totally paralyzed and scared. The second time was more serious. I was frozen and I KNEW there was someone sitting on my bed, right next to me even when I couldn't see. Then I could see my room, could feel the mattress beneath me, I'm sure I even heard my friend snoring in the other room and then I woke up. There were more but the most recent one absolutely terrifying. I still couldn't open my eyes when I felt as if someone was shaking me to wake me up but then I heard a male, deep voice whispering. I remember knowing exactly what he said while still suffering from the episode but I couldn't remember it after I woke up. Worse, I could hear things like someone was beatboxing and had pin and needles sensation all over my body. Then I began to hallucinate, feeling (NOT seeing) a little child sitting next to me,on my chair, dangling her legs. Then she reached out to me and I could remember seeing my room. I forced myself to wake up after that. What was more, my room looked EXACTLY like it did in my hallucination. With pale orange light coming through the window. I also sometimes feel sleepy during the day and am wondering whether I have narcolepsy... Any help, please?

Me too! NEW
by: Jay

Have had these for quite a few now. Had this experience last night, body was relatively heavy, pins & needles all over, a male voice, slightly gruff, whispered "Look behind". I was awake, but pretended to sleep. The biggest difference this time was I was able to move slowly but chose not to. Started to pray and as always, it receded slowly, starting from head to toe. Usually when this happens, it doesn't repeat the same night, but this time it happened 3-4 times! Just observing a trend, whenever I'm sleeping opposite a window the probability of it happening is higher.

While there is science, I almost feel that someone/thing is trying to reach out.

Why do these things happen??? NEW
by: Bad dreams

I had like 3 already in my life and the last one i had was I was feeling someone coming in my room and turned my tv off but just randomly got up out of my bed and tried to turned it back on but i was thinking wtf? Like just leave it off, you don't need it on and then I turned around and saw my binder and papers like LITERALLY just flew off by itself, so i walked and picked my stuff up and put it back on my bed but they just flew off again and so i said "Fuck it, it don't matter anyway" So i went to my light switch and tried turning it on but my light switch felt broken and like it was about to pop off if i kept trying to turn it on and then my door just swings opens and I saw a man standing by a pole and he kept looking at me with his red eyes and I didn't know what to do so just screamed and screamed but i tried to run for it but i felt like he was trying to push me back into my room and so i looked at my dogs because their cages were right beside me and they looked like they were trying to bark at the man to go away but they couldn't because they were whimpering and I just instantly fell to the ground and just woke up after that and I was still scared af! When I woke though i was kinda scared to open my door to go upstairs and tell my mom because I kept thinking the man was out there waiting for me but I finally managed to fucking get on my big girl pants and open the door and no one was out there but my dogs and they were just sleeping but i was so scared and just traumatized because that was the worst one yet but I was okay, then I told my mom and she was like well stop watching scary movies and i'm like well everyone likes watching movies and plus i never saw the man in my life like it was just some stranger. But that's my fucking sleep paralysis story.

Second experience NEW
by: Anonymous

I just tried to go to sleep about 15 min ago and literally felt my body fall asleep and realized I couldn't move and immediately tried to move and scream and heard the scariest demonic voice. I'm still shaking. It only lasted 10 seconds and this time I learned if you try hard enough you can wake up. I was also able to keep my eyes shut and I'm very thankful because what I saw last time was something I never want to see again.

I've had the "hag" attack me before countless times but never like it has the past two times recently due to the fact that I attempted suicide I was in the mental hospital for awhile one night while I was sleep I was dreaming a nurse from there was showing the people around when she came in my room and the voices sounded to loud and real I tried to wake up and ask why they where here but I couldn't and then the nurse was wearing the old nursing outfits they use to wear and she started rubbing my arm in such a sexual way so I plead the blood but ended up fighting out of it. The second time was just now when I was laying in my bed vivdly daydream not quite sleep thinking of my Halloween costume when my newph came in my dream daydream state and said something like someone's gonna die or someone's gonna get killed that's when I felt this cold feeling on my chest like a hand but at the same time maybe fingertips or something being squeezed on it and ringing and a headache I'm terrified I'm actually in my sister's room I can't sleep anymore can someone help me

Demons in my room after binge watching horror films NEW
by: Morgan

It was the summer of my 18th year and I had decided to go on a horror film binge watching fest for a couple of days. Bloody movies, supernatural movies, satanic, you name it.

The first time it happened I fell asleep on the couch right after watching "House of the Devil". I couldn't open my eyes or move but I heard this terribly loud sound and I feel something in the room. I pleaded with God to wake me up and he did. I sat up and was alone.

This same scenario happened again the following day.

On the third day I knew it was going to happen again. I was expecting it. Sure enough, that night (later I found out it was just around 3am) I "awoke" flat on my back unable to move or speak. That awful loud noise ringing through the house. I felt something come over me like it was sitting on my chest. But I wasn't scared. It grabbed my face and started to play wikth my cheeks. To the best of my abilities and repeated Psalms 23:4 (Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil...) and by the time I finished the scripture I was awake, and it had gone.

I sat up and banished any evil presence in my home. And didn't experience it anymore.. That is, until I moved houses.
