Sleep Talking and Walking So Much It's Effecting Partner's Sleep

by Kelly
(Swindon, Wiltshire, England)

Hi, I'm a female aged 25 and i have always talked in my sleep ever since I was a young child. I have been with my partner for over 2 years and am told at least 4 nights out of the week I will wake him up by either talking in my sleep or sleep talking.

There have been times when I've woken him up screaming due to nightmares or jumping out of the bed as I think there are bugs crawling on me. I have reoccurring dreams of spiders crawling on me and I jump out of the bed screaming. The weird thing is I'm not particularly scared of spiders so don't understand why I keep dreaming of spiders! There are sometimes I act out my dream and wake up part way through feeling very confused to whats going on!

It's got to the point where I'm talking and walking so frequently its effecting his sleep which isn't fair. I'm not on any medication and I have a healthy lifestyle with plenty of exercise.

I'm not sure if its appropriate to see my doctor, would they even be able to help me?!

Any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks
Kelly
