Sleep Talking With My Eyes Wide Open

by Anonymous
(Illinois)

Alright, well... It was probably around 3 or 4 A.M. I went to sleep at around 2:30 a.m. I was crying a little bit and just was sad because of this boy I like named Rayshawn. It was my cousin and I in the living room (we had a sleepover at my house).

We were talking, over some coffee and toast. She said "girl, you scared me at like 3 or 4 in the morning! Like, that wasn't even funny." And I answered, "what are you talking about? " (COMPLETLY CLUELESS about what she was talking about.) And she said "you were like yelling.. remember? And I told u to shut up." And I said "what? I seriously have no clue what you are talking about. Explain please."

And she said "wtf.. well I was sleeping, and you were kind of sitting up on the couch screaming, pointing to the TV yelling ' Rayshawn! Come here! ' and u woke me up so I asked you who you were talking to and you were like 'Rayshawn! He's over there! See? Ugh come back! Come here!"

She said I was pointing. And I start laughing and told her "what? I do not remember that? At all! " and she said "shut up you're lying. You're just trying to scare me right?"

I replied, "no i swear! I do not remember any of that!"

Then she said " stop it! You're scaring me." I said " what? Im serious i didn't even have a clue i did that."

She said "how? Are you sure? Cause you were talking all loud, AND you even looked me in the eye!"

I told her I didn't remember, and she just thought it was creepy because the fact that I looked her in the eye. Like I was basically, wide awake.

A Note On Visitor-Submitted Questions:

Publishing sleep stories and questions from our visitors is meant to create a forum for open and proactive dialogue about an extremely important portion of our lives (one that occupies 1/3 of it and affects the other 2/3) that isn't talked about enough. It is not meant to substitute a trip to the doctor or the advice of a specialist. It's good to talk; it is not good to avoid consulting someone who's profession it is to help you with this kind of stuff.

If you are in any way concerned about your sleep health, don't wait for an answer on here, and don't necessarily rely on them. See a sleep specialist in your area as soon as possible.
