Unusual BBQ (S&D)

by Jordan Hart
(Stanford, CA)

Last night, I had a dream that I was barbecuing in my backyard. There was a trampoline next to the BBQ, and while waiting for the food to cook, I decided to bounce around on it for a while. I climbed up and started jumping, and started doing crazy flips.

Suddenly, a fire started on one of the edges. The base of the trampoline started to burn, and I knew that I had to escape! So, I jumped really high, and flew up into the sky. I was suspended up there for a while, and when I looked down, I saw Russia below me. It looked cold down there, so I searched around for another place to land. Luckily, I spotted Peru. I slowly started to descend, and landed in Macchu Picchu. After wandering around for some time, I remember that I was not wearing shoes, and that my feet were cold. Thankfully, around the next corner was another trampoline. I climbed up, jumped really high into the air, and after locating my house, landed in my back yard. I was just in time, too, for the burgers were starting to burn! After taking them off the grill, I sprinkled them with glitter (edible, apparently), and and put a number of fresh flowers around them, completing the look. Happily, I sat down and enjoyed my delicious burger, resting after a long journey.

Nero anyone? NEW
by: Anonymous

You like to have fun (trampoline) while you work (barbecue), but be sure that it's the right time to take a break. It worked out ok this time, but this dream could be warning not to leave things to burn out of control or you could be left out in the cold. Be sure that letting your hair down is not escapism that could cause lasting problems in your life. You don't want to be like Nero who played his fiddle while Rome burned!

A Note On Visitor-Submitted Questions:

Publishing sleep stories and questions from our visitors is meant to create a forum for open and proactive dialogue about an extremely important portion of our lives (one that occupies 1/3 of it and affects the other 2/3) that isn't talked about enough. It is not meant to substitute a trip to the doctor or the advice of a specialist. It's good to talk; it is not good to avoid consulting someone who's profession it is to help you with this kind of stuff.

If you are in any way concerned about your sleep health, don't wait for an answer on here, and don't necessarily rely on them. See a sleep specialist in your area as soon as possible.
